All About Ghost Ants

During 1884 they were first located in the United States in the Hawaiian islands, Ghost Ants are actually known to have an African origin. Meanwhile, they were found that they can not survive in colder climates, keeping their region mostly south. Here are some facts you might not have known about Ghost Ants. Firstly, they are mostly known to be found in Florida and Hawaii but you’ll encounter them a lot in all the southern states. Secondly, they appear fully white so it will look like they disappear and come back quickly. Thirdly, they seek moisture so you might typically find them in kitchens and bathrooms. Lastly, they love sweets but will turn away sweet food for greasy food any day.

Ghost Ant Infestations

The biggest worry about an infestation is can the pest hurt you. Ghost ants do not sting but they can bite. Their bites do not pose any threat to humans. Regardless, they can enter your home thru cracks and gaps in your foundation, or from tree branches. Basically making sure to eliminate all these gaps and entries into your home can help make sure you do not have an infestation. If you feel that you might have an infestation in your home, call on the experts. Household and commercially bought sprays can cause the colony to split up and build more colonies making the infestation worse. Baits are the most effective way to handle them, and it is best to have a professional handle them from there.
